About Our Founding Partners

Stephanie FineStephanie Fine

Stephanie started her career as a writer and maintains a strong passion for prose as she partners with clients to hone strategy; establish ownable positioning; translate science into clinically-relevant takeaways; and design integrated programming that supports optimal, appropriate product use.

With nearly 2 decades of pharmaceutical, diagnostic, and device marketing and communications leadership experience across a wide range of medicine, Stephanie’s deep understanding of strategic planning, digital and traditional communications, brand management, co-marketing collaborations, sales training, and organizational leadership supports a broad spectrum of SE3 Partners clients’ needs. Stephanie has particular expertise in strategy, market development, and cross-channel integration that stems from her support of nearly 20 pre-launch brands.

Prior to founding SE3 Partners, Stephanie was the first-ever SVP of Strategy and Scientific Planning at Discovery Chicago, a Publicis Healthcare Communications agency, where she was previously the first VP and SVP of account and editorial services, overseeing all accounts and a staff of 70. Before joining Publicis, Stephanie was senior director of account services at an Omnicom agency and led its women’s health education efforts. Stephanie also has pharmaceutical advertising account management experience and led marketing communications at a west coast biotech company.

Stephanie has periodically been a medical education lecturer at the University of Chicago graduate studies program and actively volunteers within her community, where she focuses on the health and educational needs of women and children.

Sue Stearney

With 22 years of pharmaceutical marketing and communications experience across an array of therapeutic areas, Sue has broad expertise in translating complicated scientific information into clinically meaningful insights, creating strategic, integrated marketing plans that drive customer action, and developing long-term collaborations with thought leaders to support brand efforts while fulfilling mutually beneficial goals.

Sue’s demonstrated leadership and success in health care marketing, advertising, education, and promotional program design through all phases of product development has allowed her to link multidisciplinary insights into enhanced program design and execution. Her management and oversight skills make clients universally confident their needs are met and activities stay on strategy, on time, and within budget.

Prior to founding SE3 Partners, Sue was the first-ever SVP, Account Services, at Scientific Voice, a Publicis Healthcare Communications agency. She has also held VP, Group Account Director and Business Unit Director positions at Discovery Chicago, another Publicis agency. Prior to joining Publicis, Sue was a senior project manager at an Omnicom agency and her industry-side experience was with marketing at Fujisawa, now Astellas. In 2008, Sue received the Healthcare Businesswomen of America’s Rising Star award.

Ed Rady

With nearly 40 years of wide-ranging pharmaceutical industry experience, Ed brings a seasoned perspective to healthcare consulting. His diverse background as a traditional sales and marketing leader, a groundbreaking entrepreneur in medical communications, and CEO of the largest healthcare communications network in the world comes together in support of SE3 Partner client needs.

Ed’s expertise includes organizational leadership, strategic and portfolio planning, launch optimization, and issue management. His opinion leader collaborations and educational strategy design are unsurpassed.

Prior to founding SE3 Partners, Ed was global Chairman and CEO of Publicis Healthcare Communications Group, a division he created from the healthcare agencies of Publicis, BCom3, and Nelson Communications. Among his many accomplishments prior to Publicis, Ed held the Chief Strategic Officer position of Medicus Group and the role of President, Medicus Global Medical Education. Ed entered the communications side of the industry by founding Discovery International, a full-service medical education agency, after leaving a successful commercial and product management career at Abbott Laboratories.

Ed serves on the board of directors for Surgeons of Hope, a non-profit organization committed to bringing surgery and medical care to indigent populations worldwide.
